Recent franchise network data shows the U.S. store count essentially flat with small net gains and continued consolidation among top groups. EV retail sales — including hybrids and plug‑ins — notched another year of growth, pushing dealers to adapt service lanes and sales training.

Most metro areas saw little or no change in rooftop counts, underscoring the network’s maturity. But within metros, ownership keeps concentrating as groups trade into their strongest positions.

For planning, throughput metrics remain the north star: optimize staffing and hours to traffic, not tradition.​
